We have six delightful guest rooms here at The George Inn:
- 3 double rooms
- 1 twin room
- 1 Superior room
- 1 Superior room with 4 poster bed
All of our rooms are en-suite
Room 1 (double) is situated above the bar and while our bar does not run late, noise from the bar may be heard until 11pm.
Rooms 4 & 5 are double cosy rooms, smaller than our superior rooms.
Rooms 4, 5 & 6 have an outlook to the front of the Inn therefore the bells from nearby St Georges Church can be heard chiming the hours along with the 2 minute peal of a popular hymn at 4, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. If you are a light sleeper please ask for the availability of a room that looks out onto the rear of the inn.
PLEASE NOTE: All of our 6 guest rooms are located on the first floor. They are accessible by stairs only. There is ramp access into the pub, but there is no disabled access to the guest rooms.
Check in is from 2pm but if you need an earlier check in please call to make arrangements. As there is not a night porter at The George after hours please be aware the latest check in time will be 11:30pm, unless special arrangements have been made in advance.
Check out is 10.30am, if you wish to have a later check out please talk to a member of staff if this is possible
Due to the fact we are a pub please note that we do not have a 24 hour reception. You will have a front door key to gain access after hours and will only be issues at check in. Please be considerate to other guests if you return after hours.
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy here at the George. If you want to cancel your booking you can do this either through your booking company or if we can, directly with us here on 01608685788. If you are unable to cancel within the 24 hours you may be charged for the reservation.

A spacious and light double room with windows looking out to front and the rear of the premises. This room is however situated above the bar. Although the George Inn does not have a late licence, the merriment of the bar can be heard in this room up to 11pm. For this reason, despite it’s size, this room is offered same price as a standard double. This room includes an ensuite shower room with wash basin and toilet.
A cosy twin, looking out to the rear of the premises. The night price for this room is £100 based on 2 people sharing, however single occupancy will be £90 due to only one breakfast being required. This room includes an ensuite shower room with wash basin and toilet.
A stately room worthy of bragging rights once you tell your friends you spent your stay in a four-poster bed. With views out to the rear of the inn the sound from nearby St. Georges Church bells will be minimised. This room includes an ensuite bathroom complete with Bath/Shower, wash basin and toilet. Room 3 comes under the superior range of rooms costing £120 per night including breakfast.
A cosy double, looking out to the front of the inn with an original stone fire place. This room includes an ensuite shower room with wash basin and toilet. The bells of St. George’s Church may rouse you for an earlier start, but the worlds second largest peal isn’t meant to be quiet for long.
